CSQ provides funding to reduce the financial obstacle to training,

making upskilling an affordable option for many more individuals in
the construction industry.

2025-2026 Contract information below:

To be eligible for CSQ funding you MUST BE:
An Australian or New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident (or a Participant who has the right to work and study in Australia) and have been employed in the Building and Construction Industry for a period of 6 months or more, and be considered an Eligible Worker in Queensland, or an unemployed Eligible Worker who has been unemployed for a period not greater than 6 months in Queensland.  

AND MUST NOT BE:
-  an Employee of an Authority;
-  currently enrolled and participating in a Queensland secondary school program;
-  a contracted trainer or assessor or existing worker of an RTO;
-  funded by an Authority or such other source for delivery of the same training being undertaken as part of this Program;
-  funded for more than eight (8) Short Courses under this Program (either in Building Specific and/or Civil Specific) in the same program period;
-  funded for more than three (3) high risk work (HRW) Units of Competency(excluding Asbestos Units of Competency) in the same program period;

An eligible worker is someone who is an employee or self-employed worker that has been substantially engaged in the following industry priorities for six months or more:

1) The Queensland Building and Construction Industry doing:

  • Construction, significant renovations and extensions of, residential and commercial building; and/or
  • Installation services for interiors of residential and commercial buildings in associated trades - electrical, plumbing, flooring etc. and/or
  • works on a CSQ designated Major Projects - construction of infrastructure

2) the Queensland Civil Construction Industry doing:

  • land development and site preparation for the purpose of construction; and/or
  • works for civil infrastructure; and/or
  • works on a CSQ designated Major Project - construction of infrastructure

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Am I eligible for CSQ funding if I am unemployed?

YES, if you have been unemployed for less than six months but meet the other criteria for an eligible worker you should be eligible for CSQ funding

How do I apply for CSQ funding?

You can apply for CSQ funding at the same time you enrol in the course OR you can Click Here to access the CSQ funding application. 

Once your application has been submitted we will assess your application within 24hrs and advise whether you would be eligible for CSQ funding.

What evidence do I need to supply for CSQ funding?

Proof that you have the right to work in Australia such as a photograph of your GREEN medicare card, Australian or NZ passport or VISA.  See the CSQ application for a full list of what evidence can be supplied or call our office for further information - 0407 164 909.

And Proof that you are an eligible worker.  This could be any of the following:

- A photograph of your Electrical Workers licence and an email from your employer stating duration of employment, your role in the business, and the duties undertaken that demonstrate substantial engagement in the Building and Construction industry (for example, a majority of the work completed by XX during their employment has been domestic and commercial electrical installations), Please note, the email must have a signature that identifies the business name, author of the email and authors position at the business

OR

- A Letter from your employer (on the business letter head, dated and signed by the employer) which states your role, and duties undertaken that demonstrates substantial engagement in the Building and Construction industry.

OR

- A statutory declaration providing details of employment including, duration of employment, role and duties that demonstrate substantial engagement in the Building and Construction industry.

OR

- If you are self-employed your can either supply either your Electrical workers licence along with ABN/ACN registration showing ownership and 3 invoices for installation work completed in the last 6 months OR a Statutory Declaration providing details of business name, length of time you have been operating your business, your role and duties within the business and the type of work you complete.

How much funding is available?

CSQ funding is only available for a maximum of 8 units of competency within the funding period.  The current funding period is from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026.

BSBESB402 - Establish legal and risk management requirements of new business ventures - $400

UEEEL0002 - Apply currency of safe working practices and compliance verification of electrical installations - $350

UEEEL0029 - Conduct compliance inspection of LV electrical installations with demand exceeding 100 A per phase - $400

UEEEL0030 - Conduct compliance inspection of single phase LV electrical installations - $450

UEEEL0040 - Develop compliance policies and plans to conduct an electrical contracting business - $850

Solar Install and Design course

UEERE0061 - Design grid-connected photovoltaic power supply systems - $650
