QTP vs QBP – What's the Difference?

If you're planning to apply for an electrical contractor licence in Queensland, you've probably come across the terms Qualified Technical Person (QTP) and Qualified Business Person (QBP).

Although both roles are important, they have different responsibilities.

Qualified Business Person (QBP)

Electrical contractor licence applicants must nominate appropriately qualified people for both roles.

Electro-Training Institute provides QTP and QBP training for eligible applicants looking to meet the relevant competency requirements.

Completing the training is one part of the licensing pathway; the Electrical Safety Office determines licence eligibility.
