Course in Restricted Electrical (UEECD0007, UEERL0004, UEERL0005, UEERL0001, UEERL0002)

This course is designed for trade persons who wish to obtain a Restricted Electrical Work licence from the Electrical Safety Office (ESO). The Restricted Electrical Work licence allows trade persons to complete electrical work involved with their job. The licence is ideal for professional plumbers, refrigeration mechanics, fitters, and technicians in Queensland.

This course fulfils the qualification requirements for a Restricted Electrical Work licence. Once you’ve successfully completed your restricted electrical licence course, you will attain one or more of the following nationally recognised units of competency:

UEECD0007: Apply Occupational Health and Safety regulations, codes, and practices in the workplace.
UEERL0004: Disconnect - reconnect equipment connected to low voltage installation wiring.
UEERL0005: Locate and rectify faults in low voltage equipment using set procedures.
UEERL0001: Attach cords and plugs to electrical equipment for connection to a single phase 230 Volt supply.
UEERL0002: Attach cords, cables, and plugs to electrical equipment for connection to 1000 Va.c. or 1500 Vd.c. supply.

How will the course be delivered?

This course will be delivered in a hybrid manner, in four main parts.

1. ONLINE PRE-WORK: In this class, students are to complete a case study – this should take approximately 1-2 hours. Students will need access to a computer with Microsoft word to complete the pre-work.

2. CLASSROOM DELIVERY: This consists of in class training with a mixture of theory and practical exams. This varies depending on competencies required.

3. ON-THE-JOB EXPERIENCE AND ASSESSMENT: This part consists of on-the-job workplace experience. This includes demonstrating the competencies learned in class, while being observed by a qualified electrician or restricted electrical licence holder.

4. FINAL ASSESSMENT: This involves you producing a video demonstrating your ability under supervision to carry out the competencies learned in class, as well as finalise all completion paperwork to attain your Restricted Electrical Work licence.
